Research Participants Needed.

To whom it may concern,

As a graduate student in the School of Education at Liberty University, I am conducting research as part of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Higher Education Administration requirements: Educational Leadership. My research project’s title is A Case Study of School Administrators’ Perspectives in Ontario on Policies and Practices Addressing Disproportionality in Student Discipline. The purpose of this case study is to understand the perspectives of school administrators in Ontario on policies and practices addressing disproportionality in student discipline and suspension rates for minority students.

I am writing to invite ten school principals in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to participate in my research study.

Participants will be asked to contact me at 4165097013 or aooraegbunem@liberty.edu to schedule an interview, and I will present the informed consent information to the participants before participating. If willing, participants will be asked to complete a 45 to 60-minute virtual interview. Participants will be interviewed individually and in a focus group. There will be two focus groups, each involving five school administrators that will last 45 to 60 minutes. Participants will also be asked to provide a copy of their school discipline policy and any documents illustrating their approach to developing positive school culture and to student discipline. Names and other identifying information (such as the school and the administrators in charge) will be requested as part of this study, but the information will remain confidential. Taking part in this study is entirely voluntary, and participants are welcome to discontinue participation at any time.
